NEW MUSIC COLLABORATION – Laugh Lines

Three young South African composers, Jesse Dreyer, Kayode Ibiayo and Conrad Asman worked under the guidance of Composer-in-Residence Hans Roosenschoon, and in collaboration with Physical Theatre specialist Craig Morris, on new compositions focusing on our 2019 theme of humor. Their works will be premiered at this performance, followed by a discussion regarding the creative process, led by Hans Roosenschoon.

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT – MOZART FOR MANDELA

In celebration of their 5th Birthday, JIMF’s 10th Birthday and Mozart’s 263rd Birthday, 67 Blankets is teaming up with JIMF to celebrate by attempting to break the world record for the largest number of people in one venue crocheting simultaneously. There will be entertainment in various forms including Elize Kruger on piano, the Jeppe Pipe Band, the Jeppe Girls Marimba Band, outstanding baritone Tim Moloi and much much more!

This year, he and his team will be improvising a soundtrack to a collection of films by French director Georges Melies.
